We were very sad to learn of Rush's death. I have very fond memories growing up and playing at Grandma's house. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Robert and Dawn you are in my thoughts and prayers!! So Sorry!!

Its been 46 years since that shy guy came to pick me up for our 1st date. He was a sweet man. We got together 20 odd years later but it didn't work out. I hope he was happy, he deserved it.I really hope you all will have memories to take out and share every once in a while, I know I will. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Elmo's Obituaries

Elmo (Rush) Alderman, Jr., 64 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at his home. Mr. Alderman was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Elmo Rush Alderman, Sr. and Margaret Martin Alderman.

 

Survivors include sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Frank Weddle and Cynthia Dawn and Lonnie Anders; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Gail and Kathy Alderman; five nieces & nephews, Marie Phillips and husband, Kenn, Virginia Perez and husband, Brad, Autumn Fuller and husband, Matthew, Lonnie Anders, Jr. and wife, Sabrina, and Laura Anders; and seven great nieces and nephews, Grady Fuller, Daron Phillips, Marcus Phillips, Kamden Phillips, Jaxon Phillips, Braden Anders, and Naomi Anders.

 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ernie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Clontz Alderman Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
