Eloisa Vigil, 93 years old of Springer, NM passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025. Eloisa was a devoted Catholic and passed away surrounded by her loving family. Eloisa was a wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend to all her family.
Eloisa was born in Rainsville, NM to Carlos and Doloritas (Montoya) Sedillo on September 2, 1932. In 1950, she graduated from Wagon Mound High School. On November 8, 1952 she married her husband Tom Vigil in Wagon Mound, NM. Later moved to Springer, NM to start their life and family. Eloisa and Tom were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Pam (Ronald) Seidel, Dorine (David) Gutierrez, and Anita Vigil.
As a very proud and loving grandmother, she was gifted with 8 grandchildren; Ron (Amy) Seidel, Matt Seidel, Diana Seidel, Leona (Shane) Haver, Keith Gutierrez, and Amanda Gutierrez. As her life progressed, she was blessed with 8 great grandchildren, Veronica, Nick, Kane, Ellyanna, Brinley, Abel, Jeramiah, and Kyleigh.
Eloisa is survived by her brothers, Isidro (Pat) Sedillo, Elsio (Judy) Sedillo, and sister Eva Garcia, as well as numerous nephews and nieces whom adored and loved her dearly.
Eloisa was always there for her family in every way and everyone will hold their own special memories that will last forever in their hearts.
Eloisa had a passion for gardening as all who passed her home would stop and admire her beautiful flowers. Some of her other talents included cooking, quilting, sewing, reading and crossword puzzles. Her and Tom also enjoyed fishing all the surrounding lakes. Eloisa enjoyed returning to Wagon Mound for Bean Day festivities where she was able to reminisce with old friends, attend the dances and BBQ in the park.
Eloisa was preceded in death by her parents Carlos and Doloritas Sedillo, husband Tom of 63 years, her loving daughter Anita Vigil, son-in-law Ronald Seidel, brother Alvin Sedillo, sister Arcilia Lopez, brothers-in-law’s Gilbert Lopez, Phillip Garcia, Felipe Vigil, Guillermo Vigil, Gilbert (Mary) Vigil, and Johnny Vigil.
The family of Eloisa would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Colfax General Long-Term Care, Robin Pilley and Mary Addie Montoya, Hospices Nurses, who took exceptional care of our mother.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on September 22, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Springer, NM, recited by Connie Chavez, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am with Father Trieu as the Celebrant. Interment to follow at the Springer Cemetery.
