Elvia's Obituary

Elvia Gonzalez, 56, passed away on November 7, 2025, in Lexington, surrounded by family.  The daughter of Genaro Escobedo Gonzalez and Dominga (Villarreal) Gonzalez, Elvia was born in Mathis, Texas on August 2, 1969.

Elvia attended Valley Brook Church and liked to read her Bible.  She was a very optimistic lady and taught you to see the good in people and situations.  She was always outgoing, happy and joyful.  But she was also a jokester, so watch out for her playing a joke on you. Music was a passion for Elvia and she loved singing and listening to music, especially Hank Williams, Jr., Bob Seger, Journey, and George Jones.  She also enjoyed taking walks, going to the casino, and taking her chance on scratch off lottery tickets.  Her family was her pride and joy and she loved spending as much time as she could with them.

Elvia is preceded in death by her mother, Dominga Gonzalez; grandson, Esai; brother, Ernesto Gonzalez; and brother-in-law, Bob Hernandez.

Elvia is survived by her father, Genaro Gonzalez; daughter, Dalena Gonzalez of Oklahoma City; two sons, Jacob Lehew and wife Caitlin of Blanchard and Joel Gonzalez of Covington, TN; three grandchildren, Abriel, Alina, and Evelyn; siblings, Sylvia Scott of Noble, Genaro “Pete” Gonzalez and wife Lori of Clear Lake, CA, Delma Jaroszewicz and husband Jim of Atoka, TN, Luciana “Lucy” Hernandez of Gretna, LA, Diane Nana”  Tullos and partner Adrian Ramon of Oklahoma City, Thelma Rutz and husband Tommy of Piedmont and Robert Gonzalez and wife Carolyn of Edmond; sister-in-law, Delinda Gonzalez-Neal of Jones; half-sisters, Angelina Torres-Orozco of Santa Rosa, CA, Angel Marie Patton of Owasso, and Belia “Betty” Skakalsky of Claremore; two special friends, Tonia and Teresa; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members,  and friends.
