Gretchen was loved by so many family members and friends.

God bless you my friend much love going to miss you we frist met at the hospital. It was a pleasure working with you. And we kept in touch all these years. To family god bless the family she shall all ways be in my heart you made all of my girls hair bows.

Ms.Gretchen was a sweet sweet lady. We enjoyed having Gretchen as friend. I know she is in heaven with Jesus and her family. Till we meet again in Heaven Ms. Gretchen. We will miss you dearly.

Loved Ms Gretchen,was friends with Tim since teenage years. She also was a beloved customer at the Honda store where I reveled in taking care of her as if she were my mother, RIP sweet friend ❤

Emma Gretchen's Obituary

Emma Gretchen Moore Bilger, 92, of Columbus, MS, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at Trinity Health Care in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Friday, September 5, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at First Christian Church, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Friday, September 5, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. at First Christian Church with Pastor Lavelle Smith and Bro. Larry McGinley officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens in Columbus, MS.

Gretchen was born June 19, 1933, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Talley Moore and Mabel Clanton Moore.  She was a devoted Christian and a member of First Christian Church. Gretchen was married to Kenneth Dale Bilger for 54 ½ years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Gretchen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, baking, crocheting, and playing dominoes. She loved going to all the school events for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gretchen worked for many years as a CRNA at Columbus Hospital and Baptist Medical Center. In addition to her parents, Gretchen is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dale Bilger; sons- Steve Bilger and Tim Bilger; brothers- Bernon Moore, Larue Moore, and Cleon Moore.

Gretchen is survived by her daughter-in-laws- Sandra Bilger and Debbie Bilger; grandson- Dale Bilger; granddaughters- Erin (Michael) Holloway, Emily (Matt) Chisolm, and Gracie Bilger; great grandchildren- Amya Bilger, Delilah Bilger, Emma Holloway, Rush Chisolm, Bennett Holloway, Hayes Chisolm, and John Michael Holloway; other family from Jacksonville, Florida, Valdosta, Georgia, Lakeland Georgia, and Rison, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Matt Chisom, Michael Holloway, Rush Chisolm, Dale Bilger, Wayne Moore, John Moore, and Rusty Chisolm. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of First Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Christian Church, 815 N. McCrary Road, Columbus, MS 39702.
