Not sure what to say?

Rest in Heaven my Loving cousin

Our prayers goes to the family

Aunt Emma was special. She was kind, funny, selfless, compassionate and totally devoted to her loves ones. I have very fond memories of Aunt Emma working side by side with grandma in the kitchen and taking care of the household when they lived on “the creek”. Aunt Emma definitely had a “can do attitude “ and would readily jump in and help where needed. This was evident when she became the primary caretaker for my grandparents when they could no longer take care of themselves. It is a sad...

Our deepest sympathy to the Moye and Blount family.

Emma's Obituary

~Emma Blount Moye ~

Was born January 23, 1943 to the late William Oscar and Pearlie Mae Blount.

Emma grew up in Pitt County and attended the Community School.  Later in life, she met and married the love of her life, Hubert Earl Moye.  To this union, the apple of her eye Jeanette “Hope” Moye was born.

Later in life, Emma and her family left Pitt County to move to New Haven, Connecticut where she worked at Henry Richardson Plant. Eventually, Emma and her family moved back to Pitt County where she worked doing work for the elderly, which she loved, until her health began to fail her.

Being raised spiritual parents, Emma, at an early age, joined and attended Zion Hill FWB Church, where she served as a faithful member, usher and later became a dedicated Mother of the church.  Emma loved and took pride in being an usher and church mother where she greeted visitors and members and helping out wherever she could. She was respected by everyone.  “The Lord’s Prayer” was her favorite prayer. She also loved sitting at her kitchen table reading her Bible. She remained a faithful member of the church until her health no longer allowed her to attend but she still supported the church financially as long as she could.

She was preceded in death by his parents, William Oscar and Pearlie Mae Blount, her husband, Hubert Earl Moye, her daughter, Jeanette Hope Moye; her siblings Willie Mae Anderson, Shirley Spenser, Rufus L. Blount, James E. Blount, Sr., and Dallas L. Blount.

She leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate her life, her siblings Bobby Ray Blount, Ida Pearl Blount, and Devone Blount of the home, Bertha Ruth Moye of Ayden, NC, Denese Gardner (Burley) of Hampton, Va., Robert Gray Blount, Sr. (Carol) and Ricky Blount (Charlene) of Hamden, Ct., William Oscar Blount, Jr. and Pete Blount of New York, NY, two special sister-in-laws; Mary Blount of New Haven Ct. and Nina Blount of Winterville, NC; One stepson, Anthony Moye, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
