Emmogene Nester

Emmogene Nester, 93, of Spencer, died Friday, March 20, 2026, at Roane General Hospital, Spencer.

She was born August 22, 1932, at Spencer, the daughter of the late James E. and Grace V. Epling Nester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Reva Hope Nester.

Emmogene was a retired 42-year employee of Kellwood Company, Spencer and a member, since 1946, of the former First Advent Christian Church, Spencer, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Survivors include her special friend, Sharon Stewart of Spencer.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Riley Keaton officiating. Burial will be in the Spencer Memorial Cemetery, Spencer.

The visitation will be one hour before the funeral service.
