Emogene "Jean" Long

Mrs. Emogene “Jean” Long, 85 of Cookeville, TN, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the NHC Healthcare in Cookeville.

Jean was born on September 16, 1940, in Jackson County, TN to the late Elmer and Naomi Roberts. Mrs. Long was a homemaker and attended the Holladay Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2024, Georgie Dee Long; Son: Jeff Long; Granddaughter: Melissa Ann Roberts; 

She is survived by her daughter: Patricia Roberts of Cookeville; 2 Sisters Frances Bryant of Cookeville and Ann Carter of Carthage; granddaughter: Melanie Roberts; 4 great grandchildren: Stephen Colon, Chiara Colon, Tristian Vargas, and Jayla Burris.

Plus, a host of nieces, nephews, and very special friends.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 12:30pm at the Smith’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will only be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:00am until departure for the cemetery at 12:00.
