Eric Lee Posey

Eric Lee Posey of Johnson City, TX formerly of Lubbock, TX passed away Sunday March 15, 2026 at his home.  Mr. Posey was born June 23, 1939 in Plainview, TX to Eric and Ruth Posey.

Eric spent his life in Lubbock and, after attending college at Texas Tech University, his profession was an owner/operator truck driver.  His leisure time was spent fishing or traveling in his RV. Along with his wife, he became a full-time RV’er in 2011 and enjoyed winters in Texas and summers in Colorado. He eventually settled at Miller Creek RV Resort for the last 13 years.  He enjoyed helping the owner with projects around the park.   He loved history, spending time with family and friends and his cat Sam.

He is survived by his children, Diane Yates and her husband Nick, Cheryl Posey, Jennifer Weaks and her husband Jeff, and Sidney Smyer.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy, former wife, Teresa, son, Michael Lee Posey, and infant great grandson, Josiah Lyle.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City, Texas
