Erma Louise (Hill) Rottgen, 94, of New Haven, WV, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Overbrook Nursing and Rehab, Middleport, OH, following an extended illness.
She was born July 4, 1927, in Ambrosia, WV, a daughter of the late Rufus and Margaret (Herdman) Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Rottgen; sister, Mary Hoffman; stepchildren, Ralph Rottgen Jr., Karen Bendall, and two grandchildren, Teresa Fry and Jody Roush.
Erma was a homemaker and a member of Broad Run United Methodist Church. She was a sweet, caring lady that everyone loved and opened her door to who ever needed a helping hand. Erma will be greatly remembered for her wonderful cooking, especially her sauerkraut and stewed potatoes and fried fish. She enjoyed taking walks, BINGO, NASCAR, and loved shopping.
Survivors include her children, Hubert Goodnite and his wife, Michelle of Arab, AL, Angela Young and her husband, William of Lufkin, TX, Sharon Roush and her husband, Kenneth of Pomeroy, OH, Carol Russell of Bidwell, OH, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastor John Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow at Broad Run Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
