Ernest "Buddy" Patten, Jr.

Ernest "Buddy" Patten, Jr. of Babson Park passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at his residence.

He was born May 5, 1943 in Miami to the late Ernest and Phylis (Tripp) Patten, Sr.; and came here from Wauchula 14 years ago. He was a retired truck driver for United Agra Products, a member of Golfview Baptist Church, served in the U.S. Air Force, and a member of the Frostproof Masonic Lodge. He was a deacon and active in church, and loved fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Patten; sons, Russell Patten and wife Rebecca of Tignall, GA, Dean Patten and wife Lucinda of Haines City; sisters, Barbara Jean Snead of Hialeah, Mary Jo Moye of Ft. Lauderdale; brother, Scott Patten of Avon Park; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Golfview Baptist Church, Lake Wales, with Rev. David Koon officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time. For those who wish, contributions may be made in his memory to Golfview Baptist Church (P.O.
