Ernest Salonen, 71 of Bruce Crossing, MI, passed away in his home peacefully on Sunday, September 28th, 2025. Ernest was born on October 7th, 1953, in Iron River. In June 2001, he married Stephanie Bjurstrom.
Ernie was a very kind, thoughtful, and loving person. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, and music. He was also a very talented carpenter, a U.S. military Veteran, and a proud family man.
He is survived by his spouse Stephanie. Siblings, Ann Chapman and Gordon Salonen. Step daughter Jolene (Steven) Burkhart. Grandchildren Mya Stanek and Caleb Burkhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral arrangements are still in the process of being made at this time.
