Esperanza "Hopie" Gonzales, age 76, of Patterson, passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Hopie was a dedicated preschool teacher for 39 years for Central California Child Development Center in Patterson. Still to the day, she loved the fact that she had former students come up to her anywhere with "Hi Ms. Hopie". Her face would light up with happiness. She loved our daily visits for breakfast and coffee, her Friday outings to breakfast and Hobby Lobby, taking day trips to the Casino, our ladies trips to Reno with friends, loved playing Bingo, and her special time with family.
Hopie was a loving mother, devoted Tia, dedicated grandmother, exceptional great grandmother and a loyal faithful friend. She treasured her time spent with family overall, and always supporting her grandchildren and great grandchildren in sports and special events. One of the holidays that she loved was definitely Christmas. She loved the fact that everyone would come together in her home and celebrate this special day together. She loved the chaos that came along with it! She wouldn’t have it any other way.
