I appreciated Ethel and Dick for their steadfastness in attending and serving at Pennsville Baptist Church. Their love for our GOD was evident. She is home now with her husband and their Savior.


To all my beautiful cousins, Linda, Roxanne, Ranae, Marilyn, and Judy and their beautiful families. Love you all and know that I am here for you all if you need anything.
Will sure miss you Aunt Ethel. You were such a beautiful person and so much fun to be around.

Ethel's Obituary

Ethel M. Sheaffer, 94

of Dickerson Run (Dunbar Township) passed away at 11:30 PM Monday, January 26, 2026 in the Eicher’s Personal Care Home, Normalville. Ethel was born on May 8, 1931 in Dunbar Township, a daughter of the late William Morgan and Eva (Wilson) Colbert. She married Charles Richard Sheaffer on March 14, 1949 and he passed away on July 29, 2024.

 

Ethel was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1949. She was employed as a caregiver and worked with the Meals on Wheels program through the Connellsville Community Center. Ethel was a longtime and faithful member of Pennsville Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and was a noted practical joker!

 

Ethel will be sadly missed by her loving family; her five daughters, Linda Ruvo, Roxanne Forsythe and husband Jeff, Ranae Sheaffer, Marilyn Keslar and husband Ron, and Judy Marcozzi and husband Ron; her grandchildren, Traci Sepkovic and husband Mark, Tara St Onge and husband Michael, Susan Cottom, Krystle Brown and husband Bill, Erika Forsythe, Nichole Koehler and husband Chad, Kaelie Stover and husband Craig, and Deanna Hemingway and her two children; her great grandchildren, Dylan Koehler, Brady and Allison Sepkovic; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Hall; and her siblings, William Colbert, Betty Overly, Edna Dennis, Robert Colbert, and Joseph Colbert. 

 

Personal arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH GALLEY FUNERAL HOME , 501 RAILROAD STREET, DAWSON (http://www.fergusonfunerals.com).

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday and 10-11 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday with Pastor Robert Bixel officiating. Chapel committal service and interment next to her late husband will be in Dickerson Run Cemetery. Appreciate is extended to Connie & staff at Eicher’s PCH, Amedysis Hospice nurses & staff, Pastors Brian Swan and Robert Bixel, and to Dr Paul Means and staff for their loving care.
