You have made your final march down the lonely dusty trail. You are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Eugene F. Kolowitz, 80 of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem. Born on June 22, 1943 in Allentown, he was a son of the late William and Emma (Sagl) Kolowitz. Eugene was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. Eugene was employed as a production line worker at Mack Trucks for over 40 years. He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. Eugene was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 528, Allentown and UAW. He enjoyed bowling at the Hungarian Hall in Northampton and St. Francis Club in Allentown.
Survivors: Eugene is survived by his sister-in-law, Louise Kolowitz and several nieces and nephews. Brothers, William, Richard and Thomas preceded Eugene in death.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 1st at 10:00 a.m. in the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Saturday, from 8:45 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Allentown.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church in loving memory of Eugene. Online condolences may be offered below.
