Not sure what to say?

I truly hoped that one day we would have had the chance to meet or even speak. It would have been the opportunity of a lifetime to hear your insights on life and the amazing experiences I know you must have had. While I grew up only hearing the great stories of you from others, I know they must have paled in comparison to the way you might have told them.

Love and Blessings to your family, your grandchildren, and those touched by your life’s journey.

Dear Dottie and David,
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. So sorry for your loss Ann Marie always so fondly spoke of you and Gene often.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Our sincere condolences for the loss of your father. We wanted to share this memory with your family. Our Dad, Leon H Smith served with Eugene on the USS Rodman for the duration of the war and they became "best buddies". We remember fondly of our Dad speaking of Eugene and going to "Leon's" many times. Our Dad passed away at an early age (62). May these fond memories of your Dad bring you comfort and peace. Cheryl and Denise (Smith)

I will never forget Leon's Restaurant, starting back in 1963. My then future wife Linda Marcell lived right across the street on Washington Avenue. One Sunday afternoon we were out in front of the restaurant, I was getting my shoes shined. Afterwords Linda and I walked into the restaurant and sat down. The server said to us why are you sitting there, I said "your" table up over there. We were very "regular" customers.
Another time Linda and I ordered takeout " Veal Parmesan." ...

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.I remember going to eat and always seeing gene behind the bar,and Eddie and phil taking care of the dining room.

Dottie so sorry for your loss.I was your mailman for many years at Pilgrim Harbor. You and Gene were always smiling. My thoughts are with you. Tom

Dottie,I am deeply saddened by the loss of Gene. We shared so many memories, in my ❤ heart always. Linda B
