Evelyn was born to Andrew and Barbara (Martel) Ziegler, on September 22, 1923 in Wellsburg, ND.  Evelyn grew up with ten brothers and two sisters.  After graduating from the eighth grade, she helped Frank and Theresa Bruner with raising their younger children and milking cows.

Evelyn loved to dance and sing, so much so she even won first place with her sister in a yodeling contest.  At a dance, she met the love of her life, Anton J. Weninger.  It was love at first sight.  Evelyn and Anton were united in marriage on June 24, 1942 in Drake.  Tony honorably served in the United States Army from July 16, 1942 to October 23, 1945.  Upon his return, Evelyn and Tony began farming in the spring of 1946.  The couple worked side by for over thirty-eight years, when they retired and moved into town in 1984.  They were blessed with two sons, Tom and Bob.

Evelyn had many interests through the years.  She was a member of the Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church and sang in the choir for thirty-seven years.  Evelyn was an avid gardener and enjoyed her homemakers club, along with being a member of the Drake American Legion Auxiliary.  On many Saturday nights, Evelyn and Anton enjoyed bingo and dancing at the Harvey Eagles.  We know that Anton will be waiting to dance with Evelyn again.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Tom and Bob (Rita) Weninger; grandchildren, Brian (Sheri) Weninger, Linnette (Paul) Kuehn, Brad (Lisa) Weninger, Kurt Weninger (Holly Marten), Alane Weninger (Dave Cossette).  Evelyn was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Rose Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton J. Weninger; parents, Andrew and Barbara Ziegler; daughter-in-law, Linda Weninger; great-granddaughter, Stefane; brothers, Joe, Don, Andrew, Felix, Adam, Peter, Virgil, Mike and Louie; and sister, Betty Schmaltz.
