Ewa Maria (Popijakowska) Kuczek, 69 of Brownington, VT passed away on September 24, 2024 in Brownington. She was born on September 8, 1955 in Rzeszow, Poland to the late Wladyslaw and Jozefa (Szczech) Popijakowski. On July 27, 1975 she married the love of her life, the late Romuald (Roman) Kuczek.
Before immigrating from Poland in 1975 she was an integral part of the family photography business in Rzeszow called Foto Ewa. This is where she developed her passion for photography which she incorporated in her first job in the United States at Loring Studios in Hartford, CT. Her love of photography stayed with her throughout her life. Ewa and Roman settled in Rocky Hill, CT and called it home for 31 years before retiring in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Ewa spent 15 years working at the United States Post office in Rocky Hill, CT as a window clerk. She enjoyed anything and everything that involved being with her family. She especially loved travelling with her family to Poland on numerous occasions and sharing her heritage, home country and traditions. Ewa found the good in everything and everyone and would do anything she could to help someone in need.
She is survived by her children Marta Jones and her husband Charles of Middletown, CT and Thomas Kuczek of Brownington, VT; her granddaughter Addison “Addisonka” Jones who brought her immeasurable joy; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her stepmother Czeslawa (Szura) Popijakowska.
