Father Robert J. Busher

sweet, kind man. Rest in peace

We sure appreciated Fr. Bob coming to the "Etscheidt" family reunions over the years. Our lives were intertwined with our common thread of Watkins Iowa. I remember Fr. Bobs loving nature and hugs. My sympathies and prayers to the family.

I think Father Bob was my all-time favorite priest. I always told him that his sermons felt like he was talking to me about life. In recent days I wondered how he was, or if he had already died, so when I learned today at mass that he had died I was glad that he was now in the arms of his father. The last time I saw him was at an ordination mass in Davenport where I was singing in the choir. He told me he wasn't feeling well then and he was having difficulty getting around. May your soul...

Thoughts and hugs to Dee and Dan and the rest of the Busher family.

Father Busher baptized both of our children, now young adults with a strong faith. I remember that he liked to include the older siblings, and so when our son was baptized he handed the baptismal candle to our then 2-year-old daughter. (I "helped" her hold it so that nothing was set on fire. LOL) We were only in his parish for a short time, but he played such an important role in our family life and I will remember him fondly. May he rest in peace.
