Fernando's Obituary

Fernando DaCosta, 60, passed away on August 10, 2025, in Providence, Rhode Island. Born on January 29, 1965, in São Miguel, he carried with him the warmth and traditions of his birthplace throughout his life.

Fernando built a dedicated career as a machine mechanic at Quaker Fabrics. His work ethic and commitment were evident to all who knew him, and he took pride in his craft. Beyond his professional life, Fernando was a man of deep personal passions and strong family ties.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Deborah DaCosta; his sons, Aaron Joseph DaCosta and Chad Micheal DaCosta; and his sister, Fatima Melo. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews; Mathew, Natasha, and Veronica who held a special place in his heart. Fernando is also survived by his Aunt Nancy DaCosta and his cousin Candida Elizareo. Fernando DaCosta was predeceased by his father Durval DaCosta, Mother Maria DaCosta, and brothers Paul DaCosta and Arthur DaCosta.

A devout Catholic, Fernando found strength and comfort in his faith. He cherished time spent with family above all else—especially moments shared with his great-niece and nephews. Whether it was watching the New England Patriots play or enjoying a quiet afternoon playing pool or cards, Fernando found joy in life's simple pleasures.

He had a deep love for nature and often found peace working in the yard or traveling to New Hampshire to admire the mountains. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting by the water with Deborah, coffee in hand—content to simply be present in the moment. His cats brought him much happiness as well, especially Twinkles, whom he affectionately called his best buddy.

Fernando’s presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him. His memory lives on through the love he shared and the joy he brought into everyday life.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Funeral Service will be held on August 17, 2025, from 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Boule Funeral Home, Inc. 615 Broadway
