Florence & Pastor B. were like second parents to me. When I suddenly learned I was moving out of my household home, they welcomed me into theirs. I wanted to make a skirt for my sister's birthday, and while she let me embarrass myself wandering around lost at the yardage store, looking for my supplies :) she was right there through all the other steps until my one and only skirt was created. Flo and Pastor were serving Immanuel Lutheran Church in Batavia, Illinois when my family became new members. They both made our family feel welcome and part of Immanuel's family. I remember Flo smiling, singing and occasionally scolding us children; but always with love and hugs. I have so many wonderful memories of Flo at church, at home, at family gatherings and I will miss her dearly.
