Obituary

Floyd's Obituary

On March 12, 1947 a baby boy was born in Wellston, Oklahoma. They named him Floyd Day.  He was the fourth of seven children.  Floyd passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017.

 

Floyd was a graduate of Phyllis Wheatly High School. He served six years as a U.S. Marine, stationed in Camp Pendleton, California – 1967 Weapons Rep. DaNang / RVN 1968, with an Honorable Discharge in 1972. 

 

He was formerly employed with Lyondell Basell, formerly known as Monsanto, for 35 years. After retirement he lived a fulfilled life with his family in Wharton, Texas until his death.

 

Floyd leaves to mourn his wife Diana Day (Wharton), two sons Floyd Day, Jr. and Cliffton Day (Wharton), one grandson Cliffton Day, Jr. (Wharton), sisters Marjorie Dumas and Virginia Byrd (Oklahoma), Minnie Ekonda (San Antonio), two sisters-in-law Betty Norman (Wharton) and Brenda Leedy (Houston), one brother-in-law Larry Owens (Wharton) and a host of family, friends, nephews and nieces.

 

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, December 15, 2017 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 A.M., December 16, 2017 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Nebo Church Cemetery (Moab Cemetery) near Lexington.
