Not sure what to say?

To the Family of Floyd Danny Joyner (Leonard and Linda):
Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength and I hope the family finds comfort during these difficult times. Abraham Lincoln said …”and in the end, it is not the years in your life that counts … it is the Life in your years”.
So, Leonard (Barry) and Linda here is a short letter of condolence to the beloved family member who now resides in a celestial home of eternal happiness and joy:
Floyd, even though our lives...

Psalm 24:3-5,Psalm 116 Let God Be Magnified my brother
Shalom

To the family of Floyd Danny Joyner(Leonard,Linda,Aunts,Uncle,Sons,Daughters, and Grandchildren. We are thinking of you during this time of your tragic loss of your love one.May the love and grace of God be with you and bring you healing and peace throughout the family as early as possible. With sincere sympathy. LOVE,Joe and Norma Turner.

Heaven has called upon you today,
leaving so many words left to say.
But now it's too late, for your time has come, words unspoken; I am sure everybody has some.
Regrets and wishes are probably there too,but lasting forever are memories of you.
I was there when you needed a place to stay, just like you would be there for me night or day.
There have been many times that we disagreed,
but we were there for each other in time of need.
Now it's time for me to say...

Obituary

Floyd's Obituary

Floyd Danny Joyner Sr. was born on September 3, 1942, the eldest child of Magerline and Shelton Joyner, in Fayetteville, West Virginia.  He was educated in the West Virginia public school system and after graduation followed in his fathers' footsteps by enrolling in the United States Army.  While in the Army, Floyd, or Danny as he was called, worked as a military Electrical Engineer specializing in Skilled Criptography (the processor of confidential military information).

In 1957, Danny met Kay Frances Smallwood.  On June 23, 1960 they wed and were blessed with six beautiful children.  After nine years in the Army, Danny and his family settled in Indianapolis, Indiana where he began working at Muessing Oil company as a Heating and Cooling Technician.

His spiritual knowledge, learning and teaching of the Sabbeth and Gods law were a guiding force in his life and all those who knew him.  He was a member of the Worldwide Church of God and The Temple of Yahweh and Yashua, where he also sometimes served in a preaching capacity.

In 1980, the family relocated to South Bend, Indiana where Danny began working with physically and emotionally disabled youth and adults.  He officially retired from working in 1995 to assist in taking care of his ill wife until her passing in December of 1997.  From that moment on, Danny became the caretaker for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On the morning of July 8, 2012, Floyd Danny Joyner, Sr. left his earthly body and passed away from natural causes.  He was 69 years old.

Whether you knew him as Floyd, Danny, Dad, Pops, Grandpa, Gramps, Kimo or Moses, he was always there with a piece of candy, a mini-sermon, a pocket full of coins and genuine concern for others.  He loved his family, despite all else, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Floyd Danny Joyner, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Magerline and Shelton Joyner, Sr., his wife of 37 years, Kay Frances Smallwood Joyner, a granddaughter, Ashley Joyner, a sister, Evelyn Wilson and a brother, Shelton Joyner, Jr.

Leaving to cherish his memory and continue in the legacy of his teachings are his children: Greta Joyner, Sylvia Keyes and Angelia Joyner of Indianapolis, Indiana.  Floyd Joyner, Jr., Joann Joyner-Williams (Christopher) and Anthony Joyner, Sr., all of South Bend, Indiana.  Two brothers, Leonard (Linda) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Davey Joyner of Decauter, Georgia.  Two sisters, Kay (Robert) Brown and Linda Joyner-Mims both of Indianapolis, Indiana.  A brother-in-law, Herman Wilson, five sisters-in-law, Mary Smallwood, Deborah (Tommy) Dye, Sarah Smallwood, Emma Smallwood and Sandra (Larry) Jones.  Two aunts, Lorene Saunders and Christine Stewart and one uncle, Clyde Rogers.  Twelve grandchildren: Laura, Thomas, Anthony Jr., James, Maria, Matthew, Tori-Kay, Briona, Steffond, Joshua, Timothy and Aaron.  Five great-grandchildren: Gwen, Jamil, Lailah, Jerina and Parker, and a sixth on the way. Cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and family.

Funeral services for Floyd D. Joyner Sr. will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, in Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home Inc., 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon and services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
