Not sure what to say?

Floyd was a delightful neighbor and friend to all on Strawberry Hill. He was a dear friend of my parents and worked along side of my Father in odd jobs in the remodeling business years and years ago. After my mother passed away, Floyd came by their home to offer condolences. He offered to do some minor repairs to make the house " sales ready. " Eternal rest Grant unto Floyd O Lord and let the perpetual light shine upon him. Amen.

Floyd was in my life ever since I can remember. He remodeled our house that started our relationship. I wanted to stay home sick in grade school to help him.( don't tell the nuns). As the years went by and my father passed away when I was 12 he became a fill in for what I had lost.. He was always there for me in good and bad. I know he is in a better place but knowing I can't come up to visit or call him on the phone makes my heart ache for all the time I missed. He was loved by the Poje...

Rest in piece whistle, now you can play your little harp all you want.

Floyd lived across the street from my Grandma Braun on Northrup. On Saturdays, I washed my car while Floyd worked in the garage. When I was done, I always went across the street to visit with Floyd. Floyd would bring out some salami, cheese and crackers and a couple of cold ones to cut the edge. Great memories!

Floyd was our neighbor on Northrup. He was always so friendly with a smile on his face. I got to know him better when I started volunteering at The Strawberry Hill Museum. He was such a help there and all over the grounds of St. John's. May he rest in Peace. My condolences to the family.

Floyd was a dear man and friend. He loved St. John's and worked very hard to maintain its integrity and beauty. He was one of a kind! Always welcoming and if a small child was close by, he would do anything silly to make them laugh! His smile was contagious and his energy dynamic! He was part of the dynamic duo with his buddy Jake. If there was food served, they were always there :) I'm going to miss your white truck, seeing you at the back of the church, giving you a kiss on the cheek, and...

Floyd was a great friend to our family and always willing to help. He helped my Dad and Mom remodel our home on Ruby Ave. Truth be told Floyd brought the expertise and my Dad handed him a Hamm's as needed. I myself became a carpenter and I'm sure it was due to watching the work Floyd did in our home. He always had a smile and quarters to hand out. Loved his harmonica playing and upbeat attitude. He was a great man. Always smile when I think of Floyd.

Floyd Soptic will always have a special place in our hearts here at Holy Family Church on Strawberry Hill, Kansas City, Kansas. Floyd helped Father Heliodore Mejak with repairs at the church for many years and spent time down at our parish Social Club. He was a good friend and neighbor.

As Mother Theresa said, "Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness. Kindness in your face. Kindness in your eyes. Kindness...
