Sorry for your loss. A very good friend will be missed. God be with you and family.

May God bless the Wilcox family in this time of sorrow. I have a lot of fond memories growing up next door to Mr Wilcox.

Sandy and family. I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers and condolences to all.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Family.

It was a pleasure to get to know Forrest, some people you meet and you just feel like you’ve known them forever. My sincerest sympathies to his wife, Arlene and children. He was my friend, and I’ll miss him very much.

Very sorry to hear.
Long time friend of my family, coworker with my Dad ,Donald Littlejohn, and I considered him a life time friend.
Although he was Wayne’s Dad, as an adult I considered him a good friend not just my Wayne’s Dad.
I will cherish the memories I shared with him camping and chopping wood!

Forrest's Obituary

Forrest G. Wilcox, 96, formerly of Chinchilla, passed away on July 10th, surrounded by his family.

Born October 4, 1928, in Tunkhannock, he was the son of the late Forrest and Frances Pietrawskia Wilcox. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 71 years, the former Arlene Mayers.

He was a lineman for the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company (PPL) for 40 years. He was a proud Navy Veteran and member of the Masons. Forrest was an active member of the Chinchilla United Methodist Church for many years.  He loved to dance, especially the polka, and was usually the last one off the dance floor. Forrest was an avid gardener and loved being a “Winter Texan”, with Arlene, on South Padre Island. Throughout the years, he loved camping and traveling with his family. Traveling to Alaska with his entire family for his 90th birthday was a major highlight in his life.

Forrest is survived by his  daughter, Sandra Thorpe and husband Wayne, of South Abington Township;  his  son, Wayne Wilcox and wife Anne, of Houston; grandchildren Lauren (Geoffrey) Roebuck, Leigh (Timmothy) Emmott, Courtney (Joseph) Pignataro, and Robert Wilcox (Madelyn  Qualls); great-grandchildren Charlotte, Benjamin, Hudson, and Ryan; nieces and nephews Robert Cochrane, Francis Wilcox, Glendale Wilcox, Francisco Leon, Isabel Gomez, and Dunia Baker.

He was preceded in death by brothers Edgar, Walter, and Robert; sister Jane Scala; nephews Edgar “Skipper” Wilcox, David Wilcox, and David Cochrane.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the entire staff at Glenmaura Senior Living and Holly from Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassionate care.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or the donor’s favorite charity.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
