The last of my all-time second school classmate has passed. I was both shocked and saddened as I read of her death. From the 1st grade until we graduated there was always Don Van
Meter, Jo Roush and myself.
My Family and I send our Condolences and Love to James and the MacKnight Family. We pray to God for His power of Love, Strength, Comfort and Peace be given you during this difficult time.

Frances's Obituary

 

Frances “Jo” Josephine (Roush) MacKnight, 82, of West Columbia, WV, passed away April 11, 2025 in Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center, Point Pleasant, WV, following an extended illness. 

She was born February 7, 1943, in Clifton, WV, a daughter of the late Belva Marie (Young) Roush. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister Sarah K. Elias.

She was a homemaker and attended Graham Baptist Church, New Haven, WV and North Bend Church, Mason, WV. She was a member of Riverside Golf Course and enjoyed spending time with family and playing golf. 

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James C. MacKnight; daughters, Debra Kay Roush and Kevin of Letart, WV, Elizabeth M (Tim) Rickard of West Columbia and Amy J. (Don) Layton of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Trenton Roush (Paige), Carrie Hankinson (Brandon), Adam Rickard (Alicia), Heath Rickard (Christina), Lyndie Layton (Garrett), and Whitney Hicks (Mason); great grandchildren, Chrystian, Liam, Eli, Cyrus, Judah, Amos, Chloe, Gire and William. Several nieces and nephews; brothers in law John MacKnight of New Haven and Joe MacKnight of Letart. 

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. ~ Monday, April 14, 2025, at Graham Baptist Church Cemetery, New Haven, WV with Pastor Jason Simpkins officiating. 

The family would like to thank Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center for the amazing love and care that was received while living there.
