Francis L. Elgrim, 87, of Tamarac, FL, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Francis was born in Trenton and resided in Yardville and Allentown for many years before moving to Florida in 1968. A graduate of Hamilton High School, he served in the US Army before beginning a longtime career in construction. Francis was an exempt member of the Hope Fire Company of Allentown and a former member of St. John's Church in Allentown.Son of the late William and Helen Elgrim, he was predeceased by his wife, Doris Stover Elgrim. Francis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Heather Elgrim; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Herbert Sensi; grandchildren, Ross Elgrim and his wife, Brooke and Elizabeth Elgrim and her fiancé, Karl Stephanz; his longtime companion, Rebecca Harris; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy Moore, Eileen Prine and Alice and Angie DeFelice, as well as many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 11am on Monday, August 22nd at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St. Allentown. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 10am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Fire Co., PO Box 547, Allentown, NJ 08501 or to the Allentown Library, PO Box 383, Allentown, NJ 08501.
