Grantham NH - Francis Robert (Frank) Lascher passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023 in Lebanon NH at the age of 84 after a period of declining health.
Frank was born on April 29, 1939 in the Bronx, New York to Joseph and Estelle (Widrevitz) Lascher. He attended Bronx Science High School and went on to study physics at City College of New York graduating in 1961. After completing graduate studies he taught physics at the Merchant Marine Academy in King’s Point New York. He later moved to Massachusetts to pursue a career in the aerospace/defense industry. He worked for Textron Defense Systems for 30 years.
He married Barbara Enid Bromfeld on December 25th 1964 . They had two children, Marcie Ann and Andrew Lawrence. Frank was a dedicated and supportive father who enjoyed coaching the children’s soccer teams and encouraged their studies. Barbara passed away August 12, 1994 after a long battle with cancer. On October 11, 1998 Frank married Elaine (Bennett) and they settled in Eastman in 2001. They traveled and shared a fulfilling life in the Upper Valley until Frank’s passing.
His children remember him as a loving father, passionate fisherman and photographer, who was happiest spending time in his boat on the water. Frank found deep pleasure in entertaining and cooking for friends and family, especially south-western dishes inspired by his travels to Arizona. Frank was often found reading books and was fascinated with the history of World War ll and the American Revolution and Civil Wars.
Frank’s friends remember his sense of humor, quick wit, and affinity for fine wines and food. He was an avid storyteller who was always quick to embellish the details to get a laugh or make a point. He enjoyed woodworking and worked on a variety of projects for his home and others. Frank was an active and dedicated member of the Eastman Community serving on volunteer committees and the Board of Directors where he formed many friendships. Live performances of music and theater were also among his favorite pastimes.
Surviving family members include his wife, Elaine Lascher of Grantham, NH; Marcie Lascher and her son, Nicholas Cobosco of Bedford, MA; Andrew Lascher, his wife Julie and their son Andrew Jr. (Drew) of North Andover, MA; and many close cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 24th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Chadwicks Funeral Home located at 235 Main Street, New London, NH.
