Not sure what to say?

I moved to Clarks Summit from Texas in the 6th grade back in December of 1971. I was in Mr. Sladicka's class. He was extremely welcoming. He encouraged my love of poetry. To this day, I remember his lively science experiments. He also talked to my mom about purchasing me a heavier winter coat! My family had never experienced snow before. Mr. Sladicka made a difference in my life.

Mr. Sladicka was in his first year I'm thinking when he came to the Waverly School as my homeroom teacher in the 6th grade. This was '69-70. I was just wondering about him and saw this announcement and am very sorry. He was a good teacher and a nice person!

Slats as we called him at Millersville was one of my roommates when we were student teaching. There were four of us and we cooked dinner together and Slats always made sure that we had Polish pickles. He was a good friend as we all helped each other get through the student teaching experience. We lived near the center of York PA.

Mr Sladicka was my 6th grade teacher at Waverly Elementary School and over the years I have thought so many times how his happy approach to the schoolroom, his positive approach to everyone who came across his path, completely turned my life around. I'm 62 now, from the Abington Heights High School Class of 1977, and who do I try to reach out to on Christmas Eve but Mr. Sladicka, only to find out he passed away earlier this month.
It was an incredible joy to be in his classroom all...

Pat, Travis, Tricia, and Jenna,
I was so saddened when the the news reached me about Fran's passing. He was one of the first to greet me and welcome me aboard when I started at Waverly in 1974. I always knew him to be one of the kindest and caring faculty members and later on, I was thrilled to have him as my asst. principal at the Middle School. He was always interested in my family and how I was doing. So many wonderful memories since 1974 . My heartfelt condolences to you all. Fran...
