Frank L. Fallabel, 66, of Hazleton passed away Sunday in Philadelphia following a brief illness.He was born in Hazleton on March 24, 1950, to the late Anna (Susi) and Rocco Fallabel.A graduate of Hazleton High School, Frank served in the Army National Guard from 1969 to 1975. He worked in the area until retirement in 2002.He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Francine K. (Homa); son, Frank Jr. and his wife, Leann, Drums; daughters, Felicia K. and her husband, Cory Houser, and Fallon and her husband, Roberto Fermin, both of Hazleton; three grandchildren, Alexandra, Frankie III and Willy; a brother, John; a sister, Cathy and her husband, Howard Cohen; sister-in-law, Cherie Homa; and several nieces and nephews.Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Fallabel, and in-laws, John and Rose Homa. Frank was an avid Penn State football and New York Yankees fan who enjoyed cooking, driving and spending time with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who always looked forward to the annual family Disney trips. Those that knew him will remember his contagious smile, entertaining sense of humor and charming personality.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel's Church, Hazleton.Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.Friends may call Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center Research at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.
