Frank's Obituary

Frank T. McCarthy, age 84, of Waterbury, CT, peacefully passed away on September 3, 2025, at the Salmon Brook Rehabilitation Center in Glastonbury. CT following a long illness. Frank was born in Watertown and was the son of the late John and Mary McCarthy. Frank graduated from Watertown High School, briefly served in the U.S. Air Force, and was an insurance agent for over 40 years in the greater Waterbury area.  A long-time Waterbury resident, Frank enjoyed reading, dining out, taking vacations with his family, and being the best grandfather in the world, a role he took great pride in during his retirement. A devout Catholic, Frank was a long-time parishioner of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury.

Frank is survived by his wife, Christine, whom he has been married to for 61 years. He is also survived by his three children, Michael (Alysia) of North Haven, Patrick (Dori) of Prospect, and Kelly (Rino) Mozzicato of Wethersfield. He was a loving grandfather to Zachary McCarthy, Sara McCarthy, Rino Mozzicato, and Olivia Mozzicato. He is survived by his brother, Robert McCarthy, and sister, Susan (McCarthy) Franson, both of Watertown. The family would like to thank the many individuals who supported him in his final years, including Katherine McCormack, staff from Salmon Brook Rehabilitation Center, Jenny, Courtney, Carmen, Dottie, Kalmia Home Care, and Vitas Hospice.

A Mass will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10 am in the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in 74 W Main St, Waterbury, CT 06702. Internment will be private.
