Not sure what to say?

Sure miss going fishing with Frank Canada. After years and years of pestering my dad (Wally) to join a dozen or so of Frank's dearest friends to go on the annual Walleye fishing trip in May, my dad finally agreed to go and I had the privilege of going with him. I was the only man there who was under 80 years old :). What a hoot! What they did not know is that I could play Euchre speak German, too! Awesome trips! Love that Frank!

My deepest sympathies.

I only knew Frank through the Frankenkuth Conservation Club where we shared the same table each month. Although I never needed his help, yet I knew that, should I, Frank would be right there.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Rittmueller family. Being a neighbor and living across the street for twenty years, I always remember Mr. Rittmueller making an effort to wave or say "Hello" from the driveway, the car or while mowing the lawn....a friendly man, a true gentleman.

Frank is the reason my career changed from a lumberyard owner to banking, by seeing something in me that I didn't, offering me a chance to switch direction in my life. I have been and always will be grateful for his leadership, fearless to say and act in ways most of us couldn't or didn't. He truly loved his community, topped only by his devotion to his famous Michigan tailgates! My sympathy to the entire Rittmueller Family for your loss of a true icon.

So very sorry for your lose. I so respected your dad. He was always kind, caring, compassionate, respectful and NEVER a harsh work. I was so very blessed to spend time with him visiting along with your mom. He missed her and now they can be together forever and continue to watch over his family peeking through the stars . Prayers for angels to continue to surround you all with continued pease.
Where there are angels there are butterflies .

I had many good fishing trips with Frank. A great friend.

It is with great love and appreciation of Franks life and legacy that we send our condolences to the family. We have many memories of our time spent with Frank. Our family has been very fortunate to celebrate life and the many adventures with the Rittmueller family. Much love and continued prayers as we all celebrate Franks life and our new normal without him.

Diane and family, My sympathy and prayers for you and all your family, in the loss of your Dad. God give you peace and calm at this tough time.

Frank's Obituary

Franklin Rittmueller

Frankenmuth, MI

Franklin Rittmueller, 92, of Frankenmuth, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Born and raised in Frankenmuth, Frank grew up during the depression years and assimilated those values: hard work, honesty, and generosity to others. He often shared with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that in those early days his family and his community had little but did not consider themselves poor. They enjoyed the riches that humor and a zest for life afford.

Friends and family were very important to Frank, and time with both was a priority. Fishing, tailgates, travels, and family gatherings were woven into a busy life. Tending to his lawn and orchard recharged his batteries.

Frank’s long business career included ownership of Hubinger Lumber Company and Tri-Cities Management Services and positions at Frankenmuth Bank & Trust and People’s Banking Corporation. He believed in banking as a service to and for the benefit of the community. He was passionate about service to community and church, and provided leadership at St. Lorenz Church, Frankenmuth Development Corporation, Frankenmuth Rotary Club, Frankenmuth Chamber of Commerce, and the Lutheran Church Extension Fund.   Frank was a man of vision and ideas, with the ability and organizational skills to turn them into realities.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, EF and Milda Rittmueller, wife Ruth, brothers Walter and Gilbert, daughter-in-law Michelle, and grandson Timothy. He is survived by his four children, Adele Rittmueller (Frank Weis), Karen Edgington (Mike), Gene Rittmueller (Judy Robinson), and Diane Rittmueller (Tom Barnes); his grandchildren Chris Rittmueller (Aubrey), Heather Vance (Mark), Matt Rittmueller (Ehrin), Margaret Hoffer (Matt), and Hilary Edgington; his great-grandchildren Madison Rittmueller, Christopher Rittmueller, Avery Rittmueller, Olivia Vance, Emmaline Vance, Penelope Vance, Samuel Vance, Wyatt Rittmueller, Elliott Rittmueller, Tyreene Hoffer, Sade Hoffer, and Nyjai Hoffer; his two sisters Marion Braeutigam (Bill) and Eunice Drew (John).

Viewing hours will be held between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20th in the St. Lorenz Church sanctuary.   In accordance with coronavirus guidelines, masks are required. A private funeral service will be held at St. Lorenz Church on Saturday, June 20th. To protect the health of beloved friends and family, they are invited to join in prayer and celebration via live feed which can be accessed on the St. Lorenz Lutheran Church website https://stlorenz.org/ , the St. Lorenz Facebook page, or Frankenmuth television channel 191. The livestream will begin at 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, it was Frank’s wish that those who would like to make a memorial contribution consider St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, the EF and Milda Rittmueller Scholarship at the Frankenmuth Community Foundation, and the Church Extension Fund (https://mi-cef.org/). Arrangements entrusted to Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.

Frank kept his confirmation text on his desk as a constant reminder and inspiration: “Commit thy way unto the Lord. Trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.”
