Fred Sandquist Obituary

Fred Sandquist, 76, of Lake Point, Utah passed away on August 17, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with COPD. He is survived by his wife, and true love for nearly 30 years, who diligently stayed by his side, Jackie. Two daughters; Cindy and Linda Sandquist. Stepdaughters; Stephanie Sturgeon (Shawn), Dawn Straatsma (Sean), and Kristen Munoz. He will be surly missed by all of them, as well as by his brothers Don Sandquist, Tom Sandquist (Sharon), Randy Sandquist (Sonia), and sisters Bonnie Leigh and Mary Tincher, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Harold and Donna Sandquist and brothers Mike Sandquist and Ray Tincher. Upon graduating from Davis High School, and following his honorable service in the US military, he worked as a pipe fitter at Kennecott Utah Copper, retiring after 34 years of employment. Over the last few years Fred was challenged by many health issues. He rarely complained and always found a silver lining. He loved spending time with his family and friends, bowling, genealogy, and taking care of his garden and yard. Fred was known for his funny, personalized birthday cards and generous heart. His ready laughter and the sparkle in his blue eyes made him a favorite of anyone who came in contact with him. He is gone, but will never be forgotten.
A brief viewing will be held from 10:00-10:45 am on Friday, August 21st prior to the funeral beginning at 11:00 am at Broomhead Funeral Home.

Fred, alias Fredricka, was my favorite cousin to tease. He would always kid me about how I would pinch him when I was little. So, hence forth the name, Fredricca, was given, while he helped me do dishes at one of Cathleen kids weddings at her house. Love you Jackie and Fred.
