Not sure what to say?

Fred was always willing to help other. While Executive Director at Philadelphia City Rowing, I often called on him to come speak with our new rowers and provide words of encouragement as they took up a new sport. Fred also volunteered to make our trophies for our seniors. He was such an amazing person whom will be missed by many!

A true gentleman, a fierce competitor, an inspirational rower and person. Calm waters Fred.

Fred was always approachable and willing to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for rowing with me when I was a new member at Malta Boat Club in the mid-1980s. He was a straight-talking and no-nonsense chap. He will be missed.

For Fred & family: Requiescat impace ✝Phil Jonik, fellow rower & friend, Philly & Inverness, CA

I will be remembering Fred as I sit in the dog park enjoying a cigar. I only met Fred late in our lives. I was astonished at the joy and love that Fred expressed. According to the law of the conservation of energy, not a bit of Fred is gone; he is just a little less orderly.

I was fortunate to have rowed out of Malta from 1988-1990. Fred was obviously still a force in the club - always encouraging, positive, and involved. He was a pleasure to associate with - RIP, friend

A terrific coach and a nice guy.

Fred was truly a pleasure to work with in my years at Magee. Always a joke, never, EVER a complaint and always enormously grateful, even if I was unable to solve a wheelchair problem. My many fond memories of him and our time together will live on, and I am so blessed for the opportunity to have known him. My prayers are with his loving wife and family. Peace and prayers, Mary Ann Palermo

Fred was always an inspiration at work. Everything was a paid workout to him. Loved his stories
And loved him and we will miss him here on earth.
