Gerald Louis Calvert Sr., 81, of Troutville, Va., passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2016.

He was a retired principal for Roanoke County Schools.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Rebecca Calvert; and his son, Marty Bane Calvert, and brothers, Gene Calvert and Kenneth Calvert.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Calvert; son, Gerald L. Calvert Jr.; brother, Charles Calvert; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. David Derrow officiating.
