Gale Wanda Ikner, aged 66, passed away on February 11, 2026, at her residence in Mullins, SC. Born on July 10, 1958, in Mullins, she was the beloved daughter of Tom Ikner and Alice Irene Brown Ikner. Gale dedicated her career to helping others as a CNA at MUSC Nursing Home of Mullins. Her compassionate nature was evident in her love for family, friends, and even strangers, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Gale cherished her time shopping, visiting the beach, and enjoying the company of her loved ones. Her passion for gospel music and church was a testament to her faith, and she had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her furry baby Chloe.
She is survived by her brothers, James Ikner of Nichols, SC, Chris Ikner of Bishopville, SC, and Felix Ikner (Katherine) of Poquoson, VA; her sisters, Tina Ikner O’Bannon of Rolla, Missouri, and Irene Patricia Hendricksen (David) of Folly Beach, SC; her niece, April Ikner Johnson; nephews, Brandon Sikes and Gary Sikes; along with many great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Patsey Ikner and Hazel Ikner, and special friends, Mel Wilds and Olin Caulder.
Gale was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Bonnie Ikner, her brothers Lloyd Ikner, Jerry Ikner, and Adam Ikner, and her nephews Brian Ikner and Zane Sikes.
Visitation with friends and family will be held from 6–8pm Tuesday evening at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins. Ms. Gale’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, at 2:00 P.M. in the Cox Collins Chapel with the Rev. Chris Ikner officiating. The family will lay Gale to rest in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery following her service.
