Not sure what to say?

I helped Gary get his private practice started in Lauderdale. I planned to come down this weekend and googled him so we could get together for some laughs. I just found out that he passed away. I hope when I pass I get to see him. I got to meet his parents and he introduced me to his friend in Tampa, Ray Williams. No one knows me as Gary's friend and colleague down there. Even though it has been so long I have thought of Gary often. He taught me so many things. Gary, Thank you for helping me...

I by chance came across Gary's obituary and was quite shocked. If my parents in North Syracuse had still been alive, I would have heard before. Gary was a treasure, a good friend and fellow French Horn player in high school. He also inspired me to go abroad as an AFS student, as he had. Gary was funny, smart, compassionate and a joy to be around. Though I never knew where he went after medical school, I knew he would be a wonderful doctor and would have a great sense of humor with...

Missed and never forgotten!

I remember my first meeting with Gary - I looked him up and down - cowboy boots, elbow patches, and pipe - and I stood there thinking, THIS is our new AIDS clinic doctor? He was one of my favorite people and I had great respect for all that he did for the HIV community - he was truly an advocate, an educator, and a good guy. I am a better person for having known him. I will miss you Gary.

Gary was one of the most compassionate and caring individuals I had the privilege to meet (when he was still involved with Center One). He quickly became one of my heroes, mentors and someone who truly inspired me to continue in the fight against HIV/AIDS. I thank god for people like Gary as without him (and countless others that led and continue to fight) we would not have made the progress socially, medically and spiritually that we have in Broward County. You will always be in my heart...

Gary was a good friend to me in high school. He even took me to the Fireman's Ball! He was brilliant and fun. I think of him fondly. May God bless all of Gary's family and friends - and ease your grief.

Gary will be greatly missed, he was part of the 'old guard' who wrestled for rights/services for the HIV community when others were reticent. Many of us had the pleasure of serving with Gary on councils, boards, committees, etc. he was a gentlemen, and always kept in mind the best interests of his fellow man - the clients. He served on the Board at Shadowood and that his presence is still felt by the nearly 90 residents at Shadowood because of policies that he put in place. His ability...

Angel Statue that scared Gary this Halloween

I will always carry a part of Gary in my heart. He was one of the most thoughful and giving people I have ever known. My favorite memories are of him enjoying getting scared out of his wits at Halloween events. The angel statue really got him good this past October. I will deeply and dearly miss my best friend. Love and hugs to Bill.
