Gary was my younger brother by 4 years. We each went on different paths. However our lives remained intertwined. As adults we were able to assist the other with our different abilities and knowledge. Gary enjoyed academia and throughout his life as a part time educator, student of various college courses and trade courses. He had multiple degrees. Gary A. Dvoracek, 64, of Chicago died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore, IL.He was born June 29, 1952 in Chicago to James and Jane (Louzensky) Dvoracek. Gary served in the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserves for 14 years.Gary was employed as a railroad conductor and also worked at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and was a truck driver.Gary accomplished many things throughout his life, including- metallurgy, civil engineer, Bachelor in electronics, CPA, real estate managing broker, certification in heating and conditioning, and a teacher in Mathematics. Some of Gary's hobbies included fixing cars & learning new skills. He lived by his personal statement, "It's okay if you try and fail, but it's not okay if you fail to try." Survivors include his brother, James and fiancé, Roxanne Sarno. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.Services for Gary will be private.
