Not sure what to say?

In 1986 Mr. Ryniak, was my 6th grade teacher. But even in 7th & 8th I would stop by his classroom after school to visit from time to time. He was always easy to talk too. My 8th grade year I struggled with faith after tragedy struck my brothers high school friend. I came to him with questions: Does God really exist? How could this happen if there is a God? He responded at first with an ear, then guidance. He had me read Siddartha & The Late Great Planet Earth, then finally with a very...

My Ryniak was my 5th grade teacher some 25 years ago at Memorial. He was and still is one of my inspirations for becoming a teacher myself. I have even encorporated several of his activities into my classes; science Olympics, bridge building with popsicles sticks, and the bell game.

I have so many great memories of him and his class. The stock market game, prizes for doing well in spelling (like playing video games or getting spelling homeowork passes), his humor, and his ability...

So sorry to hear of cousin Gary's passing. I'm sure he will find a place in heaven alongside the rest of God's children and will continue to bring luck to the Fighting Irish. I'm afraid I got the word too late to attend his visitation or I certainly would have been there. My heart goes out to his family in their time of grieving.

Gary will be greatly missed. He was always supportive of my efforts with the 5th grade band at Memorial. My son Tim was also in his class. He told me that Mr. Ryniak was his favorite teacher at Memorial School. My heart goes out to his entire family.

As a former student from over 30 years ago at St. Cyprian, I can say that Mr. Ryniak was one of the best teachers I have ever had. I have fond memories of the aforementioned "bell game" as well as a bike trip he took a bunch of us students on one summer from Riverview to Grosse Ile. His teaching was so impactful because you didn't even realize you were actually learning through all of the fun. My condolences to his family and loved ones; I hope that these memories of him will help you find...

All 4 of my boys loved Mr Ryniak. I had his father as my principal when I went to school. My youngest is only in 4th grade but was very fond of him. My oldest worked with him personally on home remodels and said it was a pleasure to see the other side of him out of school.

Three of our four children were blessed to know you & to have learned from a great teacher at Memorial Elementary. Sending love and prayers

After reading the wonderful obituary of my cousin, Gary, I offer my most sincere sympathy to Diane, his children and grandchildren at his loss and I’m sorry that I missed out on knowing him as an adult. My brother, Jerry, and I were the oldest cousins, our mother, Bea, was Iris’s older sister. May our Lord hold Gary closely now and comfort you all in your time of grief.

Diane and all your lovely family. My heartfelt sorrow over your great loss. Behind his back. I called him. “The huggy bear”. Such a lovely man.
He was an imposing figure at St Joseph Church. He will be sorely missed
May he rest in peace. Lots of Rosarys for him.. snd each of you
