Not sure what to say?

I was a negotiator several years for the Montrose School System when Gary was our MEA Uniserv Rep. Gary was so impressive as he was smart, well informed on the issues, and was tough, but fair. What I admired most about Gary is that when there was a sticky issue, Gary's question was always the same - "what's best for the students?" Gary was excellent at his job and teachers and students were better off because of him.

Gary was my Student Manager when I worked in the Food Services at Central Michigan University. He was a kind and cheerful person to work for. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I worked with Gary for over 25 years. We were a great team. He was a tough negotiator, but he was always honest and fair. He worked hard and cared for those he represented. He always listened and made sure everyone's input was considered. He was the best MEA Uniserv representative anyone could want. I considered him a friend as well as a colleague. The world was a better place with Gary in it. Thanks for all he did.May you rest in peace. Jeanette Keim

So very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working with him in Awana for many years. Gary was a very kind man and will be missed. We have the assurance that he is with our Lord and Savior !! Jane Morgan

Gary’s work with the MEA and the Swartz Creek Education Association over 50 years ago made a real difference in the lives of many including my wife and I. He was appreciated then and now. Rest in Peace.

I have wondered about Mr. Vandermark for a few years. He was my Homeroom teacher while I was at Ainsworth. I considered him a real mentor even though he applied the wood to my fanny a couple of times. May he rest in the arms of our Lord.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Gary who was always a kind a caring person with a smile on his face. We know he will be missed by many!

Gary was one of those caring people we never forget. Faithful to the his Lord and faithful to his friends. Many wonderful memories. My heart goes out to Carol and family.

Gary was a good man and a friend to everyone he met. My sympathies to his family.
