Gauthier's Obituary

Gauthier Kamwanya Kasongo

  January 16, 1997 - February 03, 2026

Gauthier Kamwanya Kasongo passed away in the United States, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a vibrant spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo into a family of eight children—four girls and four boys—Gauthier was raised with strong values of love, unity, and resilience. He was the beloved son of Papa Kalenga Masanza Félix (who preceded him in death in 2019) and Maman Modestine Kazadi Mpele. His father’s memory remained close to his heart, and he carried forward the strength and principles instilled in him by his parents.

At the time of his passing, Gauthier was pursuing his education at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), where he was studying Cloud Information Technology. He was on track to graduate in the summer of 2026—an achievement he looked forward to with determination and hope as he worked toward building a bright and meaningful future.

Affectionately known as “Tonton Swagg,” Gauthier had a remarkable passion for fashion and self-expression. He took pride in dressing with elegance and confidence, and his unique style reflected his bold personality. His infectious energy, warm smile, and playful sense of humor made him a cherished presence among friends, classmates, and loved ones. Wherever he went, he brought light, laughter, and authenticity.

Gauthier will be remembered not only for his dreams and ambitions, but also for the joy he shared so freely. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire strength and unity among those he leaves behind.
