Jackie and Brian, we are so sorry to hear about Gene! We did make a post but, it isn't listed. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I will come by for a visit. So many memories about Gene when he lived with me in Kokomo! Sorry we couldn't be with you for the services.

Gene R. Lorensberg, age 69 and a longtime resident of Windfall, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born on July 17, 1947 in Roslyn, South Dakota, the son of Carl and Hazel (Johnson) Lorensberg. Gene was a truck driver and worked in the warehouse for Trojan Seed Company and Pfizer Incorporated for many years, and later retired as a truck driver from Rosen’s Corporation in 2011. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in South Dakota. Gene was a 1965 graduate of Rosyln High School in South Dakota, and later attended Ivy Tech College for HVAC and Electrical Technology in 1983. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, and was very proud of his service. He married Jackie S. Procter on November 4, 1972, and they shared over 44 years of marriage together. Gene was a member of the Tipton American Legion and formerly the Windfall American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. More than anything, Gene loved and was devoted to all of his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Gene’s family includes wife Jackie S. Lorensberg of Windfall; son, Brian D. Lorensberg of Kokomo; 3 sisters, Marjorie (husband Marvin) Dahl of Walla Walla, WA, Arlette Jensen of Roslyn, and Yvonne Fitzpatrick of Spokane, WA; brother, Charles (wife Polly) Lorensberg of Windfall; Father and Mother-in-law, Murice and Anna Procter of Elwood; sisters-in-law, Kathryn (husband Gary) Wilson of Elwood, and Deborah (husband Ted) Moser of Elwood; his special cat, “Penny”; and several nieces and nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Scott Lorensberg, and Daniel Lorensberg; 2 sisters, Leona Deutsch and an infant sister; and 3 brothers-in-law, Arnie Deutsch, Donald Jensen, and Tom Fitzpatrick.
A funeral service celebrating Gene’s life will be conducted at 11 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Carl Roudebush of Windfall Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Windfall, and will include military honors by the U.S. Army and Elwood VFW Honor Guard. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 8 pm on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
