Gene Mountjoy

I am so sorry and sad to hear of Gene's passing. I had the honor of working with Gene at NASA Langley for 10 years and Symantec after that. So many great memories, talking about politics and events of the day. Gene was such a good guy to bounce things off and get his take on things, Gene was a wise and humble man. I am thankful to have known Gene. I often addressed him as Mr. MountHappiness or Greater Smithfield & Vacinity, being that Gene lived near Smithfield and I in Hampton.

Gene was a super nice guy and a very knowledgeable electronics technician. You could always count on Gene. He will be greatly missed by all is friends/ buddies who had the honor to work with him at NASA. My prayers go out to his family. God bless!

It was always a pleasure to see him when he would come out with a group of us from his work.

Gene (or Gene-o as I liked to call him),
As I think back at all the times we went out to movies, shared a meal or just "hung out" talking and acting silly, your head was always up, kind words to others we're always spoken and the Lord was always on your mind. Rest Well, Brother!

Uncle Gene, you will be greatly missed! You were attentive and encouraging to me and my family. You listened to my Army stories and shared your life experiences with me too. I want to thank you for most recently sending my daughter letters of encouragement as she went through Basic Combat Training and Military Intelligence schooling. I know that meant a lot to Mija too. Also, your instagram posts of your cats were fun and kept us in contact with you through the COVID pandemic. I could go on...
