Gentry's Obituary

Gentry Pee Transou was born in Denmark, Tennessee om May 27, 1942.  He was the fourth of seven children born to Judge Sr. and Callie Mae Transou.  He departed this life February 12, 2026 at his home after a long illness.

Gentry relocated to Pontiac, Michigan for employment with General Motors until his retirement.  Additionally, he worked as a Car Salesman and a Cook at Fiero Lanes’ Deli. Gentry, know to all as Pete, was a faithful and dedicated member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church

Gentry met his wife Aurelia (Rita) in 1995 and they were married in September of 1997. They were together until he took his last breath at home.  “I’ll always Love You Forever.”

Gentry was proceeded in death by his Father/Mother Judge Sr. and Callie Mae Transou, Father/Mother In-Law Marvin and Dorthy Mae Lewis; Brothers: Lobie Greer, J.W. Transou, Wardell Transou; Sisters: Reva M. Carpenter, Rosetta Sprigner; Brother In-Law: Abraham Sprigner, Reginald Lewis, Trabian Lewis; Sister In-Law: Elvie Greer, Venus Lewis, Yvonne Johnson.

Gentry Pee Transou leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of Twenty-Eight years Aurelia (Rita) Transou; Children: Monica (Clarence) Geter, Chantwuan G. Transou, Kim Barnes, Corey (Novella) Lewis; Grand Children: Damari (Sherly) Seaborn, Latatiyanna Transou, Hadassah Geter;  Great Grand Children: Anaya Scales, Martes Gates, Teagn Transou, Grovannie Seaborn, Greyson Seaborn; God Son: Travis (Deanna) Moore; Brothers: Syvoid (Earlean) Transou, Warren (Karen) Transou, Judge (Mae) Transou; Sister: Wilma Transou; Brother In-Law: Marvin (Brenda) Lewis, Verbon (Patrica) Lewis; Sister In-Law: Susanlyn (Melvin) Wilson.  Also a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church 15 Mark Avenue Pontiac, Michigan, Pastor David Thompson, III, Officiating.  Family hour will begin at 10:00am and the service will immediately start at 11:00am. Inurnment Entrusted by Perry Mount Park Crematory of Pontiac, Michigan.
