George Elmer Abrams, 91, of Sanger, passed away peacefully at his home on November 26, 2025.Born on April 1, 1934, in Riverside, New Jersey, George was the son of Charles Robert and Marie Emilia (Witte) Abrams. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
On September 25, 1953, George married Doris Eloise Inklebarger in Wichita Falls. Together they shared 59 years of marriage until her passing in 2012. George was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished “Poppy” to his grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Doris, and his son George A. Abrams.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters Cathie Johnson of Decatur and Cindy Mills of Sanger; sons Charles Abrams and wife Sharon of Sanger, and Mike Abrams of Decatur; and daughter-in-law Linda Abrams. George’s legacy continues through his seven grandchildren—Janna Harris, Mark Johnson, Heather Donaldson, Robert Abrams, Carlton Abrams, Sabrina Nelson, and Ashley Mills—and six great-grandchildren: Kaitlin, Gannon, Asher, Riley, Wyatt, and Campbell.
A graveside service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on December 11, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
George will be remembered for his devotion to family, his gentle spirit, and the love he poured into the lives of those around him.
