Obituary
George's Obituary
George William Buckner, Sr., age 63, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Daniel Buckner, Sr.; mother, Betty Jean Buckner; brothers, Joseph Daniel “Danny” Buckner, Jr., and Gary Wayne Buckner; sisters, Penny G. Buckner, Earlene S. Mills, and Patricia A. Yates.
He loved to hunt and fish and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Lois “Jean” Buckner; son, George W. “GW” Buckner, Jr. and “daughter”-in-law, Dorothy Buckner; daughter, Jaimie Buckner Ball and “son”- in- law Keith; grandson, Hunter “Hot Rod” Buckner; brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Buckner and wife, Carla; sisters, Rose Broukal and Debbie Winfrey and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with T. G. Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel.
