Not sure what to say?

He was never my teacher, but at the start of my career, we became colleagues and friends. We enjoyed a Guinness every so often together at his home. I am lucky to have been able to work with him and been his friend.

Coach always demanded more out of us and we are better men for it. He loved us enough to discipline us when necessary and to hug our necks when it was time to celebrate. You will be missed coach.

I will always remember Mr Cofrin as both my math teacher and track & field coach. Thanks for everything you did as both a teach and coach.

Wishing the Cofrin family peace and comfort. It's been such a challenging time for all.
Rusty was a proverbial force of nature, and his legacy as a father, coach ,and teacher will not be forgotten...

I had the pleasure of running with George on the Springfield College cross country team in the fall of 1976. Although he was only a freshman, he was our #1 runner by the end of the season. A terrific guy. My sincere condolences to his family. Steve Farrell, SC class of 78'

My sincere condolences to the Cofrins. Coach was a *fantastic* person and leader. It didn’t matter that I wasn’t a great runner, he’d take the time to check on me and give the encouragement I needed. I’ll also always remember him stationed on the side of the road with his van, a few miles from school, waiting for each of us to pass during our practices. A simple gesture that I’ll never forget. Rest easy, Coach.

Rusty was a true gem! As a teacher, colleague and friend I thought of him as a diamond. His precalc tests were hard as diamonds! His humor and wit was as brilliant as diamonds! And his value to the Concord High School community was priceless as diamonds. He made a difference in the world. My condolences to Tim, Nicole, & Brendan and family.

Offering our deepest condolences at this difficult time.

Coach Rusty coached me in high school. He toughened me up in a very healthy and nurturing way to build my confidence. His spirit inspired his young athletes. I´ll forever appreciate you Rusty!
