Not sure what to say?

By far one of the nicest and sincere individuals I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

George never seemed to have a bad day with his ever present smile and good nature.

He will be missed not only by his family that he loved so dearly, but also by the many friends he made over the years.

Rest in peace George - you earned it.

Stan & Mary Ann Starr

So sad that I can't be there to pay my respects to George. He was family to us, always walked in the door at The Old Timer or home with a smile on his face. He was more than a plumber, a savior would be more accurate. The late night calls from the OT about a burst pipe never went unanswered. We spent times in crawl spaces, under sinks and basements moving old water heaters. Always had time to talk about fishing the canal or the Red Sox, he will be missed by so many.

My Boss my friend a true friend since we met long ago a man of such gentleness kindness you will always have a special place in my Heart.

So sorry to learn of George's passing. May the happy memories give you some comfort during this difficult time. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss, Madelyn.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

We were saddened to learn of George ‘s illness and subsequent death. May happier memories—and we are sure there are many—sustain you in the days ahead.

You were such a good person!! Sad you are gone!
Brian Dziokonski and Maria Rodrigues

May You Rest in Peace George, To The Family so sorry for your loss. A Great Friend always there for us and many others.

CLINTON

George W. Duchnowski, 68, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his sister, Madelyn M. Grady, of Clinton, as well as his nieces and nephews: Nicole Lagor and her husband, Joe, of Millbury; Erin Thompson and her husband, Matt, of Clinton; Shaun Grady and his partner, Lauren Grassi, of Worcester; Kyle Grady and his wife, Liz, of Paxton; Matthew Poulin and his wife, Sara; Justin Poulin and his wife, Jessica, all of Waterville, ME; and Starr Violet of Tucson, AZ. Grand-nieces-and-nephews, who will dearly miss their “Gagee,” – Ashleigh, Kylie and Tyler Lagor, Ava and Emma Thompson, Conor and Owen Grady, Nicholas Poulin, and Gillian and Brevin Poulin; and many dear friends and loved ones. He was predeceased by his siblings Edward “Chip” Duchnowski and Deborah Poulin.

George was born and raised in Clinton, son of the late Edward T. and Theresa A. (Fitzgerald) Duchnowski.  He was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1973, and he then attended Worcester Boy’s Trade. He began his professional career at Chaffin’s Plumbing in Holden before starting his own business. G.W. Duchnowski Plumbing & Heating was well known amongst Clintonians, a business he owned and operated for over 40 years. George was not just a skilled plumber but a man with a heart of gold. George was a cherished member of our community, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to both his family and his church. A lifelong and devoted member of St. John’s Parish, Clinton, his faith was only overshadowed by his quiet generosity. His kindness, humility, and love for others will remain an enduring inspiration to all who knew him. He was a cornerstone of the community serving as a member of the Clinton Zoning Board and was a Corporator at Clinton Savings Bank. A Red Sox season ticket holder for several years, he enjoyed attending games at Fenway with his family and friends, and also enjoyed attending countless high school sports games, especially those of his nieces and nephews. He also loved spending time at the track in Saratoga, NY, and on the golf course with friends. Yet, his biggest passion was fishing, especially in the Cape Cod Canal.  His greatest joy was teaching proper fishing etiquette with underlying life lessons being the true purpose of the message.

The family would like to thank all members of the staff at UMass Clinton Hospital and UMass Memorial Worcester who loved and cared for George over the past several weeks.

George’s family will gather to honor and remember his life, beginning with calling hours on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m., in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton.
