I was so sorry to hear of George's passing, he was a great guy. My sympathies go to all of you. I hope that God will bless you with good memories that will help take away the sorrow you feel today.

So sorry for your loss! George was a Great Man. I am blessed to have George as a friend! I loved to go out and listen to him sing at Karaoke!!

as a karaoke singers also i loved listening to George sing he was so good...... he will be missed by so many people... lost a good friend....prayers go out to his family...

George's Obituary

George A. Easley Jr., 80, of Chapin and formerly of Meredosia, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at his home.He was born July 22, 1934, in Meredosia, the son of George and Letha Ballard Easley. He married Shirley Bunch in Amarillo, TX in 1958 and she preceded him in death in 1995.He is survived by six children, Tonya Holder (fiancé Jimm Bates) and Toni Easley Surratt of Jacksonville, Troy (wife Stacey Easley of Meredosia, Ty (wife Carol) Easley of Cuba, Tab (wife Jennifer) Easley of Georgia, and Trina (husband Brad) Clair of New Berlin; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Smith of Meredosia, and Sharon (husband Robert) Cockerill of Winchester. He was preceded in death by a grandson, David W. Surratt; a brother, Earl Easley; and four sisters, Nina Stasi, Elaine Hilton, Violet Surratt and Leona June Blair.Mr. Easley was a graduate of Meredosia High School and then served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from National Starch in Meredosia. George was an accomplished Karaoke singer, and an avid Cubs, Bears and Duke fan. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia. Burial with Military Honors will be conducted at Oakland Cemetery. The family will meet friends 12-1 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Meredosia American Legion, Chapin Fire and Rescue Squad, or Berlin Christian Church.
