George Edward Hansen, 72, passed away on March 18, 2026, at his home in Blanchard Oklahoma. Son of Jack Oleen Hansen and Tiny Rose (Book) Hansen. George was born at Seal Beach, California on January 24, 1954.
George joined the United States Army in 1975 and retired in 2000 as a 1st Sergeant after 25 years. He worked in artillery, was a canoe instructor among many other things and ended his career with the Army as a recruiter. He spent eleven years overseas. He met Miss Erika Manz while serving in Germany and they married on January 3, 1981. After retirement George and Erika bought a farm in Okmulgee OK where they lived for 22 years raising their children and living the farm life with cattle. Where he also managed an Auto Zone for several years and ran his Dads lawn business. George and Erika have lived in Blanchard for the last 4 years. He loved helping people with any need, especially anything mechanical. George’s hobbies included fishing, hunting and cribbage but most recently he enjoyed remote-controlled airplanes. He collected quite a few of these in his workshop and loved flying them. His family described George as an amazing Husband, Dad, Opa, Brother, Son and Friend.
George is preceded in death by both his parents and one sister and her husband, Susan Graham and William Graham.
George is survived by his loving wife, Erika Hansen; daughter, Nicole Livingston and her husband Nicholas Livingston and their two children, his grandchildren Benjamin Livingston and Bear Livingston; Son, Michael Hansen of Tulsa; Sister, Diana Gorney and husband Stanley, and their two children Eric Gorney and Brenna Gorney of Cleveland, OK; and one niece Donell White daughter of Susan; and his best friend that he loved like a Son, Miguel Hernandez and wife Miriam of Edmond, among many other loving family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
