George J. Huband

George & I first met in kindergarten and, after going to different elementary & middle schools, we reconnected at NHHS. He was friendly, smart, fun-loving, & athletic.

We lost contact after high school, but I remember hearing that he played JV basketball at Chapel Hill, which is no small feat. My condolences go out to his family.

So sorry to hear about George. We both graduated from NHHS in '76. He played on my church league basketball team one summer when we were in high school along with many of my other friends. Due to his rebounding prowess, we had many opportunities to score and went undefeated during the regular season. I attended his mother's funeral in 2016 (?) hoping to see George there. I had a nice visit with Kim, who told me George was in the Raleigh area and unable to attend. I will miss him. ...

George and I were good friends in High School. I was a cheerleader and George was on the basketball team so we got along well. I’m so sorry about his passing and I wish the family so much love and prayers.

I have known the Huband family for most of my life. I met George when he was a child and his older brother Earl was, and still is, a close friend. My sincere condolences go out to the Huband family at this difficult time.
